End-of-the-year science presentation, Tuesday, May 7: In addition to the ocean box projects, students should prepare an oral presentation of at least 4 sentences about one swimming creature. This can be the same creature chosen for the IEW composition. Students should record the presentation in their science journal. They may read their presentation but should practice making eye contact with the audience. They will receive two separate grades: One for the ocean box and one for the presentation.
Oral Presentation Example: Killer whales are my favorite animal. They are really called orcas. Orcas live in family groups their whole lives. They are amazing hunters and will even attack sharks. They are also very smart and can be trained to perform tricks. I loved learning more about orcas or killer whales.
The Ocean Box should contain the following:
Chapter 1: Cover or paint the box blue
Chapter 2: Baleen what or toothed whale
Chapter 3: Seal, sea lion, walrus, or manatee
Chapter 4: Sea turtle and a sea snake
Chapter 5: There is nothing to add for this chapter
