Historical Dress Up Day/Masquerade Ball: Historical Dress-up Day is scheduled for Tuesday, October 31. Since we're studying Louis XIV in history, we will be holding a "masquerade ball" celebration to end the day on the 31st. On Tuesday October 24th, we will be creating paper masks as a history project. I'll encourage students to decorate that mask to coordinate with their planned historical costume. However, students are free to choose another mask to wear to the "ball." Costumes must follow the theme of our historic studies this year, which covers the time period between "The Holy Roman Empire" (1550) and"The World of Forty-Nine" (1850). Costume guidelines are as follows: No weapons, no gore, nothing scary, students need to be able to move and sit properly and use the restroom on their own. Have fun thinking of ideas!
