WORKBOOK AND TEXTBOOK EXERCISES:
Please grade all work by first indicating which answers are incorrect and then giving your student an opportunity to correct his/her mistakes before offering assistance. Initial the top when all problems have been completed correctly. 

Fact Practices: Fact practice (FP) will be completed daily.  The previous week's completed sheets will be collected every Monday for a homework grade.  You will need to set a timer for 5 min.  If not finished, draw a line where they have completed to and have them finish the math fact practice page for that day. 

IEW:
We will be learning what is a key word outline (KWO) and how to create one from a paragraph.

Spelling:

Review spelling and syllable division rules.

Review phonograms.

This week, we'll review phonograms and syllable division rules from previous levels.

Reading:
We are starting the year with "The Hundred Dresses".  Reading journal questions are due Aug 26.

Science:
Please bring the science textbook and journal to school on Thursday only.  

Geography:
Continents & Oceans song and map can be found here on the main blog curricula/geography page. Students will be responsible for pointing to the continents and oceans on a map.

History	Ch1 - A World of Empires					Journal entries need to be competed in the red journal. The entry needs to be three or more complete sentences. They may be in cursive or print 1st semester. I will collect the journals every two weeks to grade the journal entries.
	Intro into History and Geography	Read The Holy Roman Empire and narrate.		Read The Riches of Spain and narrate.	Journal entry: Why do you think it was good or bad for Charles to rule over so much of the know world?
Science		Read Diving Deeper, Welcome, Creation Confirmation, Watery World pg 13-16 and narrate what you read.	Picture Narration. Activity 1.2 Water pressure experiment pg 21.	Read Ocean Anatomy, Continuous Continental Shelf, Down the Continental Slope, Zoned Out, Down the Continental Rise, Absolute Abyss, Crazy Creatures, and Where's the Food? pg 17-21 and narrate what you read.	Pick one of these topics, Welcome, Continuous Continental Shelf, Where's the Food? write a narration about the topic in your journal.	Journal entries need to be competed in the green journal. The entry needs to be three or more complete sentences. They may be in cursive or print 1st semester. I will collect the journals at the end of each chapter to grade the journal entries.
